Very often, scriptures describe truth through parables. Jesus said He belonged to the Kingdom of God and spoke in parables about it. There are several parables describing the Kingdom of God, mostly in Matthew 13. They speak of small beginnings—a spark that grows despite opposition, spreads like wildfire, overcomes resistance, burns away weeds, and ultimately bears fruit.

In Eastern scriptures such as the Vedas and Upanishads, there is a parable of two birds on a single tree. One bird eats the fruits of the tree, while the other remains a silent observer. Here, the tree represents the physical body. The bird that eats the fruit is the individuated soul (Atman), which develops ego, disconnects from the Supreme Self, becomes entangled in karma (the chain of action and reaction), and gets trapped in the physical world.

The second bird represents the Supreme Soul (Paramatma), the source of life. It exists as a silent observer, sustaining life by maintaining balance. It acts when the balance and existence is threatened.

As I understand, the Paramatma creates and sustains everything. The Bible conveys a similar truth: at the pinnacle of creation, God creates humans in His image—male and female—and grants them knowledge, wisdom, and dominion. God then rests at the centre as observer.

However, humanity gradually disconnects from the Creator. This is symbolized in the story of eating from the tree at the centre. This disconnection occurs in two stages: first, separation from the Divine Father, and second, separation from one’s own soul and its divine spark that sustains life.

Traditional Biblical interpretations often attribute this fall to human sin, creating guilt and fear. However, in another understanding, the fall originates from a powerful angel who develops ego and falls. In Indian philosophy, the fall is seen as part of a natural cycle influenced by time—where darkness and destructive force increases.

When this darkness peaks and threatens creation, God intervenes. This divine intervention, as I understand through grace, is fulfilled through Jesus and the sacrifice at Calvary.

The call of the scriptures to the individuated soul is to stop “eating the fruit” and turn toward the “other bird”—to recognize one’s divine nature and attain liberation from the cycle of action and reaction.

Parallels Between Eastern and Western Thought

On deep reflection, the teachings of Jesus and Eastern spiritual philosophies—especially those of India—show profound parallels. This article relates these ideas to the structure and functioning of the adult human system.

The human system consists of a mind and body. The mind connects to the external world through the five senses and governs the visible body. Most of our attention is absorbed in this external world. Our actions originate from the infromation that the five senses feeds into us.

However, there exists a second mind [ Mind of the Heart] with its own five senses, that is connected to the INNER SPACE. This inner space remains largely unexplored by modern science. It may be understood as the “mind of the heart,” which governs the inner vital processes of the body and activates in times of crisis—what science calls the fight-or-flight response.

This inner space is the creative and sustaining field—conscious and intelligent—holding information from the beginning of time.

Unlike modern Western science, Eastern spiritual traditions focus on exploring this inner space to realize truth. Traditions such as Hermeticism, Gnosticism, Kabbalah, Tantra, Taoist inner alchemy, Advaita Vedanta, and Zen all emphasize turning inward—transcending the mind, experiencing inner light and heat (Atma Jyothi), and hearing the divine voice.

Scriptures describe God as both Light and Word. Indian philosophy expresses this through the sacred syllable “AUM,” symbolizing the primordial vibration of creation.

Going Inward and Beyond

It is understood in both science and spirituality that the physical body rests upon a deeper energetic or spiritual structure with an axis.

Going inward involves silencing the mind and encountering the divine spark—the life force sustaining the body. Science acknowledges that most cells renew over time through this life force, though nerve cells largely remain unchanged.

However, going inward alone does not necessarily lead to the Creator. At deeper levels, the seeker encounters duality and uncertainty—forces of the physical realm acting at right angles to the light realm. Some seekers who pursued this path with self-centered intent could even go past this uncertainity only to encounter deep darkness [death] and returned with the realization expressed as “neti, neti” (“not this, not this”).

Spiritual philosophy teaches that darkness is the field where light shines most intensely—suggesting that life emerges from apparent death.

Those who sought the Supreme with pure intent transcended ego and self, experiencing a unifying field—a Supreme Reality that binds everything into one. From this realization, ancient seekers understood that all existence emerges from and returns to this unified field.

Both Eastern and Western scriptures affirm that we are individuated expressions of this divine field, carrying a spark of the divine. They also suggest that God cannot be reached solely by human effort—He reveals Himself according to purpose.

My Search for Truth

As a child, witnessing violence in the name of religion led me to question God. I came to see God as a human construct and became an atheist, pursuing a career in scientific research.

However, deeper exploration of life sciences revealed significant gaps in our understanding of life, nature, and the cosmos. This led me to leave a successful career and pursue truth.

Eventually, I encountered the Spirit of Christ and underwent a transformative experience. Today, I understand Jesus beyond religion—as a scientific and spiritual reality, central to a self-organizing universe.

Jesus’ teachings align deeply with ancient mystical traditions. He spoke of consciousness, intelligence, and the presence of God within and between all things. He challenged rigid religious structures and cultural conditioning imposed by institutions.

As I understand, His spirit continues to awaken human consciousness—long held within limited frameworks.

History shows that institutional religion formed around Christ centuries after His life, often reintroducing barriers He had removed. Yet, the living truth cannot be contained is point he made in the parable of New Wine and Old Skin bags

Today, what has long been hidden is gradually being revealed.
